Fantasy

A short but intense journey that follows history and evolution of the fantasy genre.

The exhibition itinerary starts with the origins of fantasy in the “fairy tale” and from the contribution made by the late 19th century’s author William Morris to the birth of modern fantasy.

The exhibition continues with the main authors of the genre, such as J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, but also Robert Howard, Michael Moorcock and Ursula Le Guin.

The section concludes with the more contemporary phenomena of fantasy such as J.K. Rowling and George Martin, also represented through sets and recreations from the films and cult TV series they had inspired, such as Game of Thrones and Harry Potter.
